Magayon Festival
The Magayon Festival is in April and it relives the legend of Mount. Mayon. The name of this festival comes from Magayon, which is a Bicolano word which means beautiful. The festival is celebrated in the honor of Nuestra Señora de la Poreria, who was Daraga's patron saint. This historical and religious festival showcases the cultural life of the people that live in Daraga, Albay. This celebration includes cultural events, sports, and trade fairs. It is one of may ways to enrich the culture of the people as well as promoting products of Albay. The whole focus of the celebration is to reenact the tragic romance of Daragang Magayon and Panganoron, whose murders created Mount Mayon. This years Magayon Festival is April 1st through the 30th.
